When you think about it – who are the people that tend to drive really slowly and drive us all crazy but do not get into all that many car accidents? Elderly people. Most of the time, the older that you are, the slower that you drive and this can actually work to your benefit; so make sure that you pay attention to these next few blogs on how it can benefit you to drive like an older person.
It has been statistically proven that elder drivers tend to be safer on the road versus younger drivers. How can that impact your car insurance? Well, if the elder does not get into a lot of car accidents and does not get a lot of tickets, that means their car insurance premium would be low.
Car insurance is expensive and if you drive safe, it is lower – more in the next blog about how the elders save cash on car insurance.

While washing your car is very important in the winter, it is also important that you warm your car up. Have you ever seen people just sitting in their cars, waiting for it to warm up? Well, that is one of the smartest things in the world to do – the reason for this is because of the oil.
Honestly, the oil is what keeps all of the internal parts of your car to become well-lubricated and working properly. When the weather is extremely cold, the oil may not be as fluid as when it is warmed up a little bit – when that happens, the oil in your car is not lubricating all of the parts of your car.
That means that your car is gaining friction instead of running through the oil. That is why warming it up in the winter is so important!

One might think that when you have a car, it takes care of itself and you really never have to do anything with it but get the oil changed. Actually, if you own your car, you need to do a lot to it, especially in the wintertime. In the next couple blogs, we are going to talk about how you can winterize your car to ensure that it stays awesome in this terrible season.
Washing your car in the winter – while it might seem pointless, it is actually to remove the salt from your car which can actually cause it to rust. Another reason to get your car cleaned up in the winter is so that you can keep an eye on the scratches that you might have – if you clean it, you will be able to see any new scratches.
In the next blog, we are going to talk about how warming up your car actually make it last a heck of a lot longer!

Your first step in changing over to a commercial policy is simply calling the company that currently handles your car insurance policy. Talk to the agent about both your requirements as an individual and the requirements your business has. It is possible that the way you use your cars for business — especially if that use is limited — is covered by the personal policy you have now.
This is not always the case, however. Sometimes, you have be able to get a rider for your present policy. At other times, a commercial policy will become necessary.
Several things can decide that. Primarily, the main use of the vehicle is the main determining factor. You see, typically usage is placed into three possible categories: Pleasure, Business, or Commuter. If you use your vehicle for business more than half the time, that will determine its usage.

A lot of people own their own businesses and work out of their homes. As such, whether they work as freelance writers or carpenters, they likely use their own personal vehicle for work.
Now, when you do this, your car has essentially become a business vehicle. You might think that it’s totally acceptable, then, to just rely on your current car insurance. This is not true, however. It will definitely be worth it to strongly consider changing your policy to one for commercial car insurance. After all, you want to protect both your personal assets and the assets of your business.
It is not difficult to attain a commercial auto insurance policy. It will require some research and effort on your part, but it will be worth it in the end.

While your car is definitely a priority, you want to make sure that when you are driving in the snow, that you are a responsible driver. I know that I am an aggressive driver and when I am behind the wheel – I am a completely different person. This is the case for a lot of people but when snow is involved, you just need to relax.
You’d be surprised just how many accidents can truly happen when you get cocky and when you try to rush things. You always want to make sure that you not only slow your speed down but you, in general slow down. As this is something that will absolutely help you in the long run.
Finally, change your attitude a little bit – if you get mad at the snow, I can promise it will take you twice as long to get wherever you are trying to go.

Plenty is being done to penalize uninsured drivers — or, rather, to keep drivers from being uninsured in the first place. Now, yes, sometimes it is hard to even think about paying car insurance premiums when money is tight and you are having a problem making mortgage payments, house payments, when it is hard to buy food for your family. But when you drive without insurance, you are putting both yourself and every other driver you ever pass at risk.
Recognizing this, most states are putting into place systems and/or legislation designed to keep drivers from being uninsured. For instance, your tags may get canceled if you lapse on your auto insurance policy, making it illegal to drive your vehicle. Doing this can lead to fines, jail time, and the suspension of your license.
There is also legislation in the works designed to create even harsher penalties for drivers who do not have insurance.

Drivers who are either uninsured or severely under insured cause a lot of problems. They are problematic for car insurance companies, of course — that almost goes without saying. But what the average consumer may not realize is that they are also a problem for drivers who do have insurance. The number of uninsured drivers in each state varies greatly; for example, in New Mexico, an astonishing twenty nine percent of all drivers are uninsured, while only one percent of the drivers in Massachusetts are uninsured. In theory, the latter sounds good, but the sheer number of uninsured drivers in the United States alone is not only staggering but scary — and the numbers are rising at an alarming rate, due to the still somewhat unstable state of the economy.
So what harm do these uninsured drivers pose? And what is being done about this problem?
